How to move to Malaysia from Nepal

The most popular destination for new Nepali workers. Under the 2018 agreement, the employer should pay recruitment costs.

Why Nepalis go: Many factory, security, plantation and service jobs; minimum wage RM1,700 a month (since February 2025).

The catch: Pay is low compared to Korea or Japan, overtime abuse is common, and you can't settle or bring family on a worker pass.

Most common route: Licensed agency → employer gets quota and visa → Nepal labour permit → Temporary Employment Visit Pass.

Foreign worker pass (PLKS / Temporary Employment Visit Pass)

A Malaysian employer hires you through a licensed agency. Under the Nepal–Malaysia agreement, the employer pays your recruitment fee, visa and ticket.
