A UK employer with a sponsor licence offers you an eligible job and gives you a Certificate of Sponsorship.

What you need

• A job offer from a licensed sponsor
• Salary at least £41,700 (new entrants from £33,400; some shortage jobs lower)
• English at level B2 (required for new applicants from 8 January 2026)
• Criminal record certificate for some jobs (e.g. health, education)

Step by step

• Get a job offer.
• Employer assigns a Certificate of Sponsorship.
• Apply online and give biometrics.
